Hi there! I was wondering how you broke the baby news to Princess? Does she understand the concept of a baby in mommy’s belly? How is she handling it? My stepdaughter is 12 years older than my baby, so she understood how it happened, but she was so not happy about the situation. Thankfully, once she saw her new sister and held her for the first time, she was a goner – head over heels in love! LOL
Before we knew we were expecting, we’d ask her if she wanted a bro or sis. She would say no. When we found out we were having a baby, my hubby and I just told her that mommy has a baby growing in her tummy. We took her to see the sono. She didn’t handle it too well in the beginning, but eventually warmed to the idea. I think the important thing with kids is communication and making them feel included. It’s been working well.
