Mixed Hair Care: Fourth Day Wash-N-Go Curls

With temperatures topping out in the 80s these past few days, Princess has worked up a ton of sweat – not to mention her hair is beginning to dry out from the sun. I normally could get away with repeating our day three routine, but her curls are looking a bit thirsty and in need of rejuvenation. Here’s how to get perfect fourth day wash-n-go curls.

Princess woke up with matted hair. The satin cap does a good job of keeping the moisture in, but the weather hasn’t. Rather than shampoo all over again, we co-washed her hair instead. Rinsing her hair out with conditioner cleanses the hair and scalp as well as moisturizes her curls.

After a quick co-wash, we followed up with a leave-in conditioner and then finger detangled her hair. This usually takes about ten minutes total.

Once the hair is fully detangled, we are done! We added a cute hair accessory and little elixer and she’s good to go.

Just a quick note: When use an elixer or any type of oil on her hair, I only add a little. The elixer we have comes in a spray bottle, so I spray a little in my hand first before distributing it throughout her curls. The same goes for other containers. The Argan oil we use comes with a dropper. I add a small drop in my palm before adding it to her hair. Too much oil weighs her hair down. If you’re little one has thicker hair, you may need to add more.

We usually leave her curly locks to air dry. Since the temperatures are pretty mild, it’s okay for her to leave the house with her hair a little wet. If you’re opposed to the idea, you can alway dry with a diffuser attached to the blow dryer.
