Are We Done Having Kids?

If you look at the arsenal of baby clothes and gadgets that are piled up in our basement, you’d probably think that we are not done having kids.

Just the other day my hubby got sick and tired of looking at the mess downstairs and decided to do a clean sweep. He also demanded that I get rid of some old baby clothes.

But the minute I began rummaging through the garbage bags and came across Princess’s old outfits and O’s first shoes, I stopped myself. Rather than toss them out, I went out I bought a bunch of vacuum sealed bags.

I went through all the kids’ clothes, place the them in the bag, took all the air out, and stacked them in a container. I got up the courage to give my husband a few bags that I was willing to part with along with a few products that the kids could no longer fit. But, I just couldn’t get rid of everything.

“What if we have another one?” I asked.

He shot me the look of terror and said, “I thought we were done having kids?”

On one hand, I feel completely done. We have the perfect fair, a boy and a girl. There is no way we could afford another one. But on the other hand, kids are a blessing. I miss the newborn stage and it would be exciting to welcome another baby to our family.

Princess and O are growing so fast. Before you know it, they’ll be off to college and have families of their own.

Who knows what will happen. As I sit here typing away, I look over at the kitchen counter where the baby bottles lie and think to myself.

Are we really done having kids? I guess we’ll just have to wait and see. Never say never.

I totally know the feeling. I think if you’re not sure if you’re done, then you likely aren’t done. We have 2 girls and I think we’ll go for a 3rd after my 2nd turns 1. Its all in God’s hands. It is expensive but I have never heard anyone say they regret having a kid. I have however heard many say they regret not having more.
Goodluck whatever you and your husband decides. You both make beautiful babies! 🙂
