When I was pregnant with Princess, I knew I wanted to nurse. I was a bit apprehensive because of the demands of my career. Having a job in news means having to change your schedule around at a moments notice. Also, moving from one station to another is the norm in my line of work. Lucky for me, I’ve been fortunate enough to be able to stay in New York. I have a pretty stable lifestyle, but there are times when I have to switch things around because of breaking news.
I’m a weather anchor, so there are many times when weather is the main story of the day. One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced as a mom is nursing my little one, while trying to fulfill my career duties. I wasn’t sure that I’d be able to do it, but I’ve become successfull at balancing the two.
I’ve decided to chronicle my breastfeeding journey with this series, “Nursing Diaries.” You can also find some of my posts, at Pumpease.com. I chat about things like how I got through the pain of nursing, my back up supply, and what I did when my body wasn’t producing enough milk.
Feel free to share your breastfeeding stories with me. Whether you’re a career mom or a stay-at-home mom, breastfeeding is huge commitment. Plus, it’s a huge bonus for babies! There are so many benefits to nursing. You can also check out this website for more tips and information about nursing. Can’t wait to hear from you!
