Potty Training Boot Camp (Day 3)

We started potty training boot camp on a Wednesday, and by Friday things were going well.  Princess’s favorite part is flushing the toilet, and closing the seat (in her case, slamming the seat).  She also likes washing her hands.  It makes her feel all grown up.

This time I didn’t have to call daycare to find out how Princess was doing. I got a buzz from them which I thought was so sweet.  Her teacher mentioned that she did have an accident while going to the potty.  Then another possible one happened during outdoor recess.

“She was putting water down her shirt and her underwear was wet. So I can’t tell for sure,” she said.  Either way, I’d say she had a great day – until Daddy picked her up from daycare.

Apparently Princess wanted to go in a completely different direction from where the car was parked.  This has been a habit of hers for a while now.  She’s our little backseat driver.

If we listen to her directions, there’s no telling where we’d end up.  Anyway, Princess lost it when Daddy guided her the right way.  He ended up having to carry her through the parking lot while she had a tantrum.

As he was putting her in the car seat, there were drips of water falling to the ground.  He thought nothing of it until he walked around to the drivers side.  My hubby had pee all over his shirt and shorts.  Did I mention that they had to pick up pizza for dinner?

They obviously couldn’t go there with urine all over themselves.  So, they made a pit stop to change clothes.

Princess had pee all over her bottom and it went down to her shoes too. As my hubby gave me this play by play, I couldn’t help but laugh.  It was hilarious.  I guess that was Princess’s way of punishing Daddy for going the opposite way.

Ahhh I remember those good old days (which were only a few months ago!).

Before Lil J was fully potty trained, he regressed for about 3 weeks with #2. He would come up to us and tell us that he had pooped in the potty when, in fact, he had pooed beside the potty or somewhere not even close to the potty. Luckily, we have hardwood floors.

It was frustrating but then one day he decided he was completely ready and that was the end of that! He was fully potty trained during the day (with a few accidents here and there) and just recently he’s stopped peeing at nighttime! Hopefully this means that he’s FULLY potty trained – day and night!

Good luck with Princess. It will definitely happen when she’s ready!

Wow! I remember reading about Lil J’s potty training on Babycenter. I’m so glad things are going well for you guys. I agree that it can get frustrating. I just remind myself that one day we’ll look back and laugh about it. Now that you have a little girl maybe it’ll be easier. I hear that boys are harder to train.
