I like to think that I always have it together. I’m always careful to make the right decisions in life. But, that wasn’t always the case. Like many young girls, I was looking for love in all the wrong places.
Then I met the love of my life, only I didn’t know it at the time. We were kids in college. Our paths seemed to cross at the worse possible time. I felt broken. I had been through so much, and wondered how I’d make it through each day. But, he put up with all my craziness.
It took me a while to realize that he was all I needed, and I thank God I didn’t ruin a great thing. I see so many girls get caught up in the superficial. They don’t know a good man when they see him. They’re busy focusing on the physical and less on the connection. I’m glad I didn’t make that mistake. Don’t get me wrong, my man ain’t busted. In fact, he’s fine! The fact that he’s so humble makes him even more handsome. However, that’s not why we’re together.
I knew then that he’d be the best husband ever. I knew in my heart that he’d support my decisions, my career, and he’d be the best dad. We’ve become the perfect pair. I’m so glad I came to my senses.
He’s my best friend, my lover, my everything. Happy Birthday Boo!
