I have the secret to thicker, fuller, longer hair. So my hair is not really that long, since my big chop back in February 2012. But it’s getting there.
My hair has come a long way, and I’m excited to share with you what’s been working for me. Believe it or not, pregnancy with the best thing for your hair – there I said it!
My hair has been growing like crazy ever since I got pregnant. I noticed that my hair stopped shedding with my first pregnancy, and experienced the same thing with my second pregnancy.
I’ve also been changing up my haircare regimen, which has also helped to strengthen my hair. Here’s quick rundown of what’s been working for me, so far.
Tips For Growing Longer Hair
1. I take my prenatal vitamins everyday.
2. I wash and condition my hair once a week.
3. I also keep my hair moisturized by spraying it with water everyday and sealing it with oil.
4. I also deep condition my hair each week to increase moisture and prevent breakage.
5. I stopped using combs and brushes.
6. I avoid using heat.
These tips have been working well for me. But once I give birth and begin nursing, my hormones levels change and I begin to lose nutrients. Then I notice my hair begins to shed. So I’m committed to taking my vitamins everyday even after giving birth, in addition to keeping up with my haircare routine.
I’m sure as the months go by my routine will change. The important this is to be consistent. So whenever anyone asks me the secret to my thicker, fuller, longer hair, I simply tell them, get pregnant!. But seriously, it’s also about maintaining moisture.
