Sally Hansen: #IHeartMyNailArt

I’ve always enjoyed getting manicures and pedicures growing up with Sally Hansen nail polish. Every weekend I’d set aside time to paint my nails. I loved experimenting with different colors and designs. But as I got older, life got busier. I no longer had time to pamper myself. But I plan on making an exception as I welcome baby number two into the world this summer.

When I was pregnant with Princess, I made sure I had all my ducks in a row. I packed my hospital bags, picked out the baby’s take home outfit, and installed the car seat weeks before D-day. Since I had no time to hit up the nail salon, my hubby did the honors of giving me weekly pedicures (I couldn’t bend down after a while). But, getting a manicure was the last thing on my mind.

Now that baby number two is on the way, I plan on being mani/pedi ready for our family’s new arrival. So, I wanted to begin experimenting and searched how to infill builder gel.

With my Walgreens balance reward in tow, I made a bee line to Walgreens. Since we decided not to find out what we’re having, I wanted to stick with gender neutrals.

When it came to choosing which line to go with, the Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips were a no brainer. I’m a career mom who’s always on the go. I have no time to sit and wait for my nails to dry. These sweet strips can last up to ten days and can be removed with nail polish remover.

Sally Hansen Nail Art Tutorial

1. Take off plastic.

2. Peel off second strip to remove the strip

3. I gently pushed my cuticles back

4. Gently apply the nail strip from the bottom up, making sure to smooth out air bubbles.

5. File away the excess

6. The nail art pen didn’t work quite well with the strips. So, I applied nail polish and tried a cute design.  Here’s the finished product. Not bad for my first try.

I still have three months before D-day to perfect this technique. I hoping to really have it down by then. In the meantime, I decided to pair with this outfit.
