When we were getting ready to welcome our first baby, the last thing on my mind was getting my own birthing gown. That was a huge mistake! I told my hubby to keep the camera far away because I didn’t want anyone seeing me in that hideous hospital gown. He managed to snap this pic anyway. Then later took this shot of Princess and me, after I got changed.
I plan to deliver in style for my second delivery and I’m not alone. More expectant moms are deciding to ditch that tacky gown for a more stylish birthing gown. I remember seeing great pictures of reality star Snooki in her cheetah inspired BG Birthing Gown, and thought why not give it a try?
BG Birthing Gown
I had the pleasure of speaking with former nurse and creator of BG Birthing Gown. She said she decided to design the gown in order to make the labor and delivery process more enjoyable for mommy and baby. Let’s face it; when you look good, you feel good too!
Whether worn during labor or lounging around, this birthing gown is comfy. It’s also great for those who are modest, offering full coverage in the front and back. It has velcro shoulder straps which makes breastfeeding easy. The Birthing Gown also drapes like a curtain. All you have to do is loosen the strings to allow hospital staff convenient access to put on and remove birthing gadgets.
Pretty Pushers
I was also introduced to Pretty Pushers, another company started by Mary Apple. I was surfing the web when a friend pointed out that it looked like a a summer dress. It has a halter top which allows for immediate skin to skin contact, and a low back for epidural access (if needed).

With only a few months left in my pregnancy, I’m still trying to decide which one to wear. Stay tuned to find out!
