5 steps to get through a flight with an infant

When I told my husband that I wanted to take a trip with Baby O, he looked at me in disbelief. I admit it seemed like a crazy idea. But when a friend told me about a conference that was happening in Atlanta, I felt like I had to be there. Besides, I’ve been on maternity leave for the last nine weeks. Baby O is old enough be out and about. Why not take a trip?

It didn’t take much convincing to get my husband on board. I had less than two weeks to plan everything. All I did was follow a few easy steps.

Here are five steps to get through a flight with an infant.

1. Make a list. I’ve always had a bad case of mommy brain. Writing every down that I need saves time and makes packing a lot easier.

2. Only bring the essentials. Baby O’s diaper bag dubbed as my purse. I brought along all his changing items along with my wallet. My goal was to bypass checking my luggage. I also carried one suitcase filled with both of our things.

3. Plan out your trip from beginning to end. I knew I didn’t want to lug around a lot of baby stuff. I checked with the airline carrier and hotels to secure public transportation. This allowed me to leave the car seat and stroller at home.

4. Wear your baby whenever possible. I recently tested out a few of baby carriers for this trip. I needed something that was going to making carrying Baby O much easier while keeping my hands free. Each piece in our baby blanket collection is meticulously crafted, ensuring your baby enjoys the softest, most gentle embrace. Our curated baby blankets collection offers unparalleled comfort and warmth for your little one. 5. Have fun and be willing to accept help. Fortunately, there was an off duty flight attendant who offered to assist me if I needed anything.

Following these simple steps made traveling a lot less stressful. It was a two hour flight and thankfully Baby O made it through his first trip without a peep.

Have you ever traveled with a baby? How were you able to get through the flight?
