When the director of daycare approached me about Baby O moving up to the next level, you’d think I’d be ecstatic! Why am I not over the moon, you might ask? Well for starters, he just got there! Okay, maybe he’s been there for about seven months. But, so what?
Alright, I’ll admit it. It’s me. I’m not ready for my baby boy to move up just yet. It feels like I delivered him yesterday. Now all of a sudden he’s crawling, standing, and ransacking the place.
Clearly he needs more room to run a muck. The director says that he’d have more opportunities to grow in a more mobile environment. “We’re gonna move him up in July. But, I think he’s ready now,” she said.
I know I may be coming off like a whining brat, but it’s so hard to see my child go from newborn to almost toddler status. At parent teachers conference night, we were informed that he’s been doing a great job napping, feeding himself, and socializing with his friends.
It’s just crazy how time flies. Before you know it, I’ll be sending him off to kindergarten. Let me not get ahead of myself. Instead I’ll sit back and enjoy these precious moments because they’ll be gone before you know it. This isn’t the first time I’ve experience a child moving up a level. Trust me, it doesn’t get any easier.
