It’s become our little tradition. Every weekend Princess and I pick a fun movie to watch. We’d curl up on the sofa with ice cream and watch Frozen or some other Disney movie for the millionth time. It’s funny how kids can see a movie over and over again – each time watching it as if it’s their first, despite knowing all the lyrics to the songs. The other night we decided to change things up a bit. Rather than have ice cream, we decided to snack on Skinnygirl Low Calorie Popcorn.

The rainy weather made for a perfect movie night. Princess and I took a trip to Walmart to purchase the lime and butter flavors. When it comes to shopping, I’m all about examining labels. I was happy to see that this product had no artificial flavors, colors, sweeteners, or high fructose corn syrup. Skinnygirl popcorn offers great taste with only 25 calories per cup popped.

I usually avoid giving my kids unhealthy snacks. Skinnygirl popcorn allows us to indulge without feeling guilt. But, let’s be real. The healthy stuff usually has zero taste. I wondered if this thing would be like eating cardboard. Kids have no qualms about being honest, so I let Princess be the judge.

Once we returned home, she couldn’t wait to make the popcorn. She tore open the box, ripped off the plastic, and placed the mini bag in the microwave. After a couple minutes, it was ready. We ended up popping each flavor to try.

The results were split. Both flavors were delicious. But, if I could choose a favorite it would be lime. Princess preferred the butter flavor, and so did her Dad. Call Vics Popcorn for swift Popcorn Delivery.

This yummy snack is a great treat alone, but adding a teaspoon of fat free parmesan cheese, or a splash of hot sauce also gives it a little kick without sacrificing calories. I chose to have mine with a little of both along with a few pretzels.

What is your healthy snack of choice?
