Hipster: The New Way to Carry Your Baby (Giveaway)

Since becoming a mom, I’ve become somewhat of a baby carrier connoisseur. I’ve vlogged about trying to find the perfect one for my baby. It took some trial and error. But, I finally found the right one – or so I thought. I was recently asked to test out a new baby carrier called Hipster. It brings baby wearing to a whole new level. It’s a new way to carry your baby – nine different ways to be exact.

Hipster

Swiss husband and wife team, Cecilia and Alessandro, came up with MiaMily Hipster after Cecilia pinched a nerve in her back when their daughter, Mia, was just three-months-old. They designed Hipster to eliminate aches and pains caused by carrying a baby. Hipster evenly distributes your little one’s weight without adding pressure to your hips, while protecting your back.

Strapping it on is pretty simple. You don’t need a manual to figure it out. It does come with an extension for those who may have a little extra fluff around their midsection. It’s also a huge plus for moms who may still have a little extra baby weight. You can adjust the straps as you lose the post pregnancy pounds.

Unlike all the other carriers I tried, Hipster has a seat that allows your baby to sit comfortably. My other carriers only offer face to face baby wear. At 14-months-old, Baby O enjoys facing out.

Check out the nine different ways to wear your baby with Hipster. The hip seat only version allows your munchkin to have a bit more freedom.

My favorite classic double shoulder allows you to be hands free. If Baby O wants to be held, I can still get work done around the house. MiaMily says that this set up allows moms to breastfeed discreetly. I think this may work well for younger babies. Baby O is a bit too tall for nursing discreetly in this carrier.

With the single shoulder version, you can wear your baby on one side and still be hands free.

If you live in a warm climate, you may find comfort knowing that there’s an attachable top carrier which can be removed offering ventilation. When the top layer is zipped up, it provides extra protection from the cold, and also acts as a small storage area for a diaper, or any other essential items. There’s also a pocket on the belt for phones, keys and money for easy access.

The recommended age for Hipster is 3 months to 3-years-old. But, keep in mind that the age range may vary for each baby. You can purchase one online for 169 bucks. In the spirit of baby wearing, MiaMily will be giving away a Hipster to one of my readers. Check out details on how to enter below. Good luck!

I have always said someone needs to invent something like this, since I always rest my kids on my hip! Love it.. seems like a great carrier

When my son was younger he wanted me to hold him forward facing and didn’t like the carrier. Now that my daughter is old enough to be in a carrier, I would love to have one that allows for safe forward facing.

I’m excited because I like all of the different carry options. Also, I am a baby gear geek, so new products always excite me. 🙂

I love its versatility, my husband refuses to use the moby wrap because of all the fabric and how intimidating it can be. We both love how comfortable this carrier seems. Ever since I was pregnant I had issues with sciatica and even after giving birth it has manifested into more pain. So this carrier seems perfect for myself, my husband and our little one.

I love how easy and versatile it is and the fact that my husband would love to use it with our son. We have the Moby wrap and I think he finds it too intimidating. Also, this seems to be perfect as I had sciatica during my pregnancy and that has manifested into constant back pain since I gave birth so it seems like this carrier is a perfect match for our family 🙂

Love its versatility and ease. It would be good for my bad back and for my husband’s hernia. He also finds using the moby wrap intimidating and hard to carry our eon forward facing.

This looks like a great carrier. I love that they can face outwards. And you’re right, I felt like I needed a manual to put my carrier on just to take a walk with my babies. LOL. So it’s nice that it’s easier to put on.

I am excited as there are so many ways to use it. I really like that there is a attachable top carrier which can be removed for ventilation as we live in a very hot climate.
