What I Love About My Son

My little guys amazes me everyday. It’s hard to imagine giving birth to him 16 months ago. Here’s what I love about my son.

For starters, he’s a cool kid with a great personality. Believe me, I’m not just saying that because he’s my son. He has his drama filled moments, but that’s usually because he’s teething, hungry, or tired. A boob session always settles him down. But when he’s not nursing or cranky, he’s calm and likes to chill in the cut. This kid has swag.

He’s hilarious. Young O loves pulling pranks. He has a funny way of disappearing. All it takes is for you to turn your head for a sec and he’s out. This happens especially when getting dressed after a bath. So, you can imagine him running around the house naked.

He’s the best little brother, even though he bothers his big sis sometimes. They fight like any other siblings. But they have tight relationship that’s unmatched. If she’s sad, he’s there to comfort her and vice versa.

He doesn’t give hugs and kisses to just anyone. In fact, I love how careful he is with strangers. When it comes to his family, he loves hard and I adore that about him.

He also has an infectious laugh that’s so unique. It’s the kind of laugh that warms your heart. I could be having a rough day, and his laugh would turn my frown upside down.

If he’s not laughing, he’s surely talking up a storm. If you ask how he’s doing, he’ll respond by saying “good.” If you ask him if he had a good day at school, he nods. He says Mama, Daddy, water, Grandma, and understands a lot. He’s definitely a chatterbox, and the funny thing is that he babbles as if he’s really saying something that makes sense. I guess it does for him.

I love how he gets excited when it’s time to eat. And don’t think about trying to spoon feed him because he likes to feed himself. I’d say, “want some Cheerios?” He’d run over to his chair shuffling his feet ready to get some food.

Speaking of feet, Young O could sure cut a rug. Whenever there’s music playing, he likes to get his groove on.

He is a happy tot, but like most he does have his moments of crankiness. I love seeing him cry. I know this may sound insensitive, but you’d feel the same if you witnessed it. If I say, “no, don’t do that,” he’d stop look at me, make a weird crying face, and start to cry seconds later. It’s hilarious.

He may be only a year old, but this little guy is pretty strong. My little Hercules has already broken two lamps and a fan. Hey, I’m not bragging. In fact, we may be in trouble. Who knows what he’ll get into next?
