We give thanks on Thanksgiving, but this holiday also about learning. Most of the time it’s the kids who learn giving thanks. They also learn about family traditions. But from time to time the adults learn a thing or two.
Here we are waiting for our family to arrive for Thanksgiving dinner when I overhear the cutest conversation between Princess and her dad.
“Daddy, is that a cornucopia on football?” She asks.
“Huh?” He asked. He’s so wrapped up in the game that I’m not even sure he’s listening to her question.
“Is that a cornucopia on football?” She asks again.
“What’s a cornucopia,” he asks.
She proceeds to explain that a “cornucopia is shaped like horn and you put food in it for Thanksgiving.”
I smile to myself from the other room in awe of her explanation. But I’m even more impressed by how patient and detailed she is at explaining to her Dad about how a cornucopia is used. It’s so amazing how sometimes it’s our children who teach us something new.
Hope you all have a very happy and safe Thanksgiving.
What have you learned from your kids lately?
