For our curly hairstyle of the week, Princess wanted hair like Belle from Beauty and the Beast. There was no time to put together the elaborate half up half down fancy hairdo, so we went for something a bit more simple. We decided on a twisted ponytail.
I remember the scene of Belle singing the song, “Little Town” and how cute and simple her hair looked. So, I recreated the look using a few bobby pins and a hair tie.
First I dampened her hair with water, detangled, then smoothed out the roots with a rat-tail comb (keep in mind hair must be completely detangled before using a fine tooth comb).
I gently twisted each side using pins to secure along the way, then combined both sides with a hair tie and voila!
The only thing left to add is a cute bow. We don’t have much time to work with, so I try to keep our curly hairstyles short. It only took five minutes to achieve our curly hair style of the week.

It took two years for her hair to completely grow in. lol My 18-month-old son has a faux hawk.

I use to wear my hair like this– it keeps the fly-aways out of the face. If my hair is frizzy and super curly- its easy to pull back!

Yes. This is one of my favs. It’s also great for my 4c kinky texture.
