The slide-up braid has got to be one of my favorite hairstyles. It’s cute, simple, and only takes a couple of minutes to do. Plus, there are so many different ways to rock it. Here’s a quick tutorial on how to achieve this look.
1. Take a small section and loosely braid hair.
2. Once you get to the bottom, hold on to the middle section and then slide the other two sections of the hair up to the top.
3. Release the braid, gently pulling down until you see the hair form a zigzag pattern.
4. Secure the bottom with a bobby pin, mini claw clip, or an elastic.
The cool thing about this braid is that you can get pretty creative. In this photo above, I started with a simple dutch braid on each side to frame Princess’s face, and added a hair tie at the end. I then separated her hair and combined both sides together underneath to hide the braids for a seamless appearance.
This is what it should look like when you let all the hair down.
This is great alternative sporting a headband while keeping the hair out of her face. It’s perfect for any occasion and any hair texture too.
