Welcome to the new and improved Weather Anchor Mama! I can’t believe this journey began almost four years ago and I’m so excited at how much it has evolved. I want to thank you so much for riding with me these last few years.
I’ve shared with you my pregnancy and breastfeeding stories, parenting challenges and triumphs, and also shared tips on how I’ve managed to conquer some hurdles that made me sometimes want to rip my hair out. Speaking of hair, I’ve also told you about my battle with post pregnancy hair loss, which I must say has improved tremendously. In fact, it so happens that I’m embarking on my three year natural hair anniversary.
I started this blog as a diary for my kids to read one day. It’s also been a way for loved ones to keep up with me and my family. It’s also been an occasional venting forum where I unleash my inner struggles with balancing career and motherhood, which has led to an epiphany – there is no such thing as a perfect balance. Yes, you read that right. Don’t get me wrong you can have it all, but keep in mind that you may have to modify your goals. I’ve certainly done a lot of that. My core mission now is to raise my children to weather the storm.
My family is super important to me, and if sh$$ ain’t right at home, then what’s the point?
Anyway, I’ve got a lot of things in the works that I’ll reveal when the time is right.
In the meantime, here’s what you can expect from the new and improved WeatherAnchorMama.com:
Fun videos. I began a series called weather wise on my Weather Anchor Mama YouTube channel. It includes fun and easy experiments you can try at home with your kids. It’s one of Princess’s pet projects. Please check out her videos and show her some love.
Career advice. I’ve shared some journalism tips in the past. But since I get asked questions about breaking into the business, I plan on making this a featured topic.
Natural hair tutorials and tips. You may have noticed my Curly Hairstyle of the Week posts where I share cute and easy curly hairstyles. I also plan on making videos on how to achieve some of the hairdos.
Multicultural lifestyle. One of my missions is teach my kids about their identity. My husband is of Irish and German decent and I’m Jamaican. We pride ourselves in teaching our children about their heritage. I plan on creating a forum for others to chime on how they teach their kids about their own identity.
Parenting tips. Whether it’s how to get rid of cradle cap or breastfeeding tips, I’ll be sharing more tips and tricks. My hubby has already signed on to make guest appearances on WeatherAnchorMamaTV to provide a male’s perspective.
Top story rants. I’ve always been very outspoken and every now and again I like to sound of on top trending stories.
Also be sure to stay tuned for more product reviews and giveaways. Please be sure to take a look around, leave a comment, and subscribe.
Again, thanks so much for your continued love and support. I’m so excited to begin this new chapter of WeatherAnchorMama.com and I’m honored to have you along for the ride.
