Curly Hairstyle of the Week: How to Make a Celtic Knot

I’ve been on the hunt for a fun and quick hairstyle for our Curly Hairstyle of the Week. With St. Patrick’s Day just around the corner, I wanted to pay homage to our heritage by creating a celtic knot.

My husband and I are of Irish decent – both on our mothers side of the family. I don’t have a strong connection to my Irish roots because I was raised mostly with Jamaican traditions. Every once in a while, my mother reminds me of her grandmother, who was Irish. She moved to the island like many others to escape the potato famine, and later met and married my Jamaican great grandfather.

The celtic knot (also known as an endless knot) is often used to adorn things like religious objects, and architecture. The knot is a symbol of eternity and I thought it would be a cute style for Princess to rock on St. Patrick’s Day.

This design is so intricate that I decided to put together a two minute video on how to make a celtic knot. This hairstyle is also great on straight hair. However, Since Princess’s hair is curly, I sprayed it with water and added a little leave-in conditioner. I also applied a little curly custard to tame the frizz and control her strands.
