My four-year-old has a prom and dance recital coming up, which can get pretty expensive. Rather than head to the salon, we’ve been experimenting with different curly hairstyles. One of our favorite styles is the pull-through braided updo. It’s great for dance recitals, proms, and weddings.
I’ve come to realize that a cute hairstyle can turn your overall look from drab to fab. You can rock the pull-through braided updo with everything from jeans to a fancy princess gown.
Princess loves her curls, but isn’t a fan of having her hair in her face. With the temps getting milder here in NYC, she prefers having it up and out of the way.
I braided and moisturized her hair the night before, so when we were ready to style her hair it was stretch allowing for easy manipulation. I just add a little water to tame fly aways.
1. We began by making small section loose pony tails using rubber bands across the back of her head.
2. I separated each pony tail and pulled hair from the right side to each section on the left. Complete the process all the way to the end.
3. I then loosely braided the left of section to the ends of the hair.
4 Finally, I went back and pulled each rubber banded section apart then bobby pinned hair together.
Please note: Use Clear Elastic Braiding Bands
