I’ve been blogging for about four years now. Each year I come up with goals that I’d like to achieve, and blogging conferences are usually at the top of my list. This is my second Blogher experience and you wouldn’t believe how I’m preparing for #Blogher2015
The truth is I’m not going to over think it. The last time I attended Blogher in 2012 I brought a small suitcase, and it wasn’t because I was staying over night.
I had spoken to other bloggers and read so many reviews about people going home with a ton of swag. So I wanted to have enough space for everything. But, little did I know the majority of the stuff would end up in the trash. The select few products that I kept fit nicely in my purse.
When I attended Blogalicious 2o13, I played it smart. I only traveled with the necessities. I had just given birth to O at the time and decided to attend the conference last minute. Since I was traveling alone with a newborn, I planned out my trip ahead of time. Luckily, there was train service that took me from the airport directly to the hotel where the conference was held. O stayed in his carrier pretty much the entire time.
For #Blogher2015, I don’t have to worry about hopping on a plane. Rather than stay at a hotel, I plan on driving back and forth to Manhattan. It’s a bit of a stretch, but it’s cheaper and I won’t have to spend the night away from my family.
That said, I’m looking forward to the experience. Whenever I attend a conference, I leave feeling empowered. I love connecting with other bloggers and brands and hearing folks offer their entrepreneurial expertise. But the excitement doesn’t stop there. A bunch of celebrities are slated to grace the stage.
Ava DuVernay, the award-winning director of Selma, Oscar and Emmy award winning actress Gwyneth Paltrow, former CNN anchor Soledad O’Brien, Legendary R&B group Boyz II Men, and actor/host Nick Canon will all be there.
I’ve got my #Blogher2015 app downloaded, business cards, Iphone, and laptop ready. I’m looking forward to an amazing experience.
Will you be at #Blogher2015?

i took home a bag full but the company I told you about was where most of the big stuff came from. My girls are going to be excited. We got two new games- jinga and stinky pig. We love playing games at our house. I was excited to meet Sally from Sallysbakingaddiction.com. Her pictures are droll worthy. That cookbook will always be precious to me. This was my first blog conference. I, like you, feel so empowered. Only 109 more days until blog her food. I have some goals set and am excited!
It was great to meet you, looking forward to reading more of your posts in the future.
