If you haven’t heard, Periscope is the latest social media craze! You’re probably thinking, “Ugh. Not another app!” That’s exactly what I said to myself. But for the past few months I’ve been scoping almost everyday. I’ve also been watching a ton of scopes, and I’m hooked. When I read about the #SeptemberScopers Challenge, I just had to be a part of it.
My fellow mom blogger and executive producer, Lauren Berger of Working Mom Magic, and Julie from Girl on the Move came up with this great idea to scope everyday this month. Here’s how it works:
- Do at least one scope a day using #SeptemberScopers in your title
- Share each scope on twitter with the hashtag letting your followers know about your broadcast
- Whenever you see #SeptempberScopers, be sure to follow them, watch their scope, comment, and share.
So are you ready for the challenge? It’s a great way to get your feet wet, if you’re new to Periscope. You can also gain more followers and support other Periscopers. If you’re not sure what to scope about, follow the daily topics below. Don’t worry about following each prompt exactly. You can talk about something else, just make sure you use #SeptemberScopers in your title and when sharing on social media.
A few quick tips if you’re new to Periscope:
- Don’t forget your title. I can’t tell you how many times I hit broadcast without entering a title, which means less viewers.
- You can swipe left to right on Iphone, swipe up on Android to share on Twitter and Periscope.
- Show your love by tapping the screen to give lots of hearts.
- Be sure to follow me @weatheranchorma and give a call to action asking scopers to follow you.
- IMPORTANT: Periscope automatically shares your location. If you don’t want people knowing where you are, you can simply click to make your location private as seen in this graphic.
