Healthy Taco Sauce Recipe

My family loves taco night. The kids enjoy eating with their hands, and this is the perfect meal for that. But let’s be real; tacos aren’t as yummy, if it doesn’t have the right amount of flavor. That’s why you need the perfect taco sauce to bring it all together. I used to buy the “just add water” taco mix, but decided to make my own taco sauce a while back.

Most already made taco sauces or mixes have a lot of salt, preservatives, and other ingredients like high fructose corn syrup that we want to avoid. That said, we’ve had health concerns in my family, so we choose to make healthy choices to prevent these issues from happening again.

However, making recipes from scratch isn’t always that easy, especially if you’re a busy parent balancing work and family life. I usually set aside time to make our meals in advance using organic ingredients. Then we refrigerate or freeze leftovers to enjoy at a later time, which will saves time in the long run.

Feel free to add it to 1 lb of your favorite meat or fish before serving. This recipe is enough for 4-6 people. You may have to freeze the left of taco sauce for a later time.
