How to Heal Bruises in Less than 30 Days

Do you know that it’s possible to heal bruises and get rid of scars in less than 30 days? I didn’t think it was until after my daughter had a bad fall.

How to Heal Bruises in Less than 30 Days

It’s hard to see a child get hurt. But, it’s the inevitable. Kids are going to fall at some point. As parents, we do our best to protect them, wipe away their tears, and clean their boo boos.

My daughter recently fell at the park, as she explains in our YouTube video.

We had just gotten out of the car and she began running toward the swings. She had both hands in the pockets of her jacket, and wasn’t able to catch herself in time.

My little girl went down with her face hitting the pavement. She had a swollen lip, bruised nose, and a puffy eye. There was also a cut above her top lip that I was particularly concerned about. I wasn’t sure if it would leave a scar.

It all happened in slow motion. Her brother and I were a couple steps behind, and I couldn’t do anything to stop it. I tried my best to comfort her, but she was in too much pain.

Fortunately, the scrapes and bruises were mostly on the surface. She didn’t appear to need stitches, but I knew that the healing process would take a while.

5 Tips to Heal Bruises Quickly and Prevent Scars

Disinfect the wound
I took her home and immediately washed away dirt and pebbles from her face using mild soap and water to avoid infection. Then, I dampened a piece of gauze before adding alcohol to disinfect the area. I did this to void the burning sensation of pure alcohol.

Apply Ointment
There are different ointments on the market, including Bacitracin and A&D. However, we used Calendula Ointment. It Helps promote healing of cuts, scrapes and minor burns. I applied it using a q tip to the wounded area three to four times a day for the first week.

Cocoa Butter and Shea Butter
I began noticing the rawness going away within the first 5 days. However, I was concerned about her developing uneven skin tone, especially underneath her nose. So, I alternated between cocoa butter and shea butter daily.

Vitamin E
I’ve heard that vitamin E is another great way to heal bruises. A study found that using Vitamin E three times a day could prevent scars and keloids.

Apply Sunscreen
Kids spend a lot of time outside depending on the time of year. That’s why applying sunscreen is extremely important to reduce redness and discoloration.

It’s been about a month and my daughter’s bruises are barely unrecognizable. I took this photo the other day, which hasn’t been retouched.

According to the pediatrician, the wounds will continue to heal and shouldn’t leave a mark as long as we continue to treat the area. So if you want to heal bruises quickly, follow these steps and you should get positive results.
