When My Sister’s Spirit Showed Up!

Stacy-Ann Gooden and Sister

Grief has a way of changing the way we see the world. When we lose someone we love, the absence is undeniable — but so is the presence they leave behind. Recently, I had a moment that reminded me my sister, even in death, is still with me.

My sister wasn’t just family. She was our rock, our protector, and the one who always looked out for us. Growing up, we shared a room, and I can still remember how she would stick up for me when it came to Billy’s, even though she was tough on all of us as siblings. Her love was strong, fierce, and unforgettable.

After losing her, I’ve had days filled with sadness, but I’ve also had unexpected moments when I feel her spirit. This time, it was so real that it gave me chills. I knew it was her — a gentle reminder that she hasn’t truly left, that her love still surrounds me and my family.

Moments like these remind me that love never dies. Our loved ones continue to guide us, protect us, and show up when we need them most.

As we honored her on her birthday this year, I found comfort in knowing that she was still celebrating with us in her own way. Her spirit continues to be woven into my daily life, giving me strength as a mother, a sister, and a daughter.

💙 To my sister: Your love lives on forever.
