24 Weeks: Feeling intense pressure

I’m counting down the days for my little sweet pea to arrive. It’s been a rough last few weeks. However, the impending arrival of my little one eases the drama.

I had my monthly doctor’s appointment this week, and found out that this baby weighs just shy of two pounds with paper thin skin. However, that’s about to change. As this little bun continues to bake, his/her skin will get thicker. This baby will go from lean to plump too.

I also had to take my diabetes test the other day. A lot of you mamas out there know exactly what I’m referring to. I had to drink this glucose solution about 45 minutes prior to my appointment. This stuff taste like flat soda, yuck! Once I got there, the technician took a blood sample to check my levels. The point of this test is to see how my body processes sugar. Since I haven’t gotten any news from the doc, I suspect that I’m clear from having gestational diabetes.

How I’m feeling: A bit stressed about work and school. I finally made some time to hit the gym to let out some aggression! But, with that comes physical pain. Now that this baby is getting bigger, I’m feeling more pressure down there. I’m not even in my last trimester yet and I feel like my uterus is about to fall out. The doc says it’s normal, and I have nothing to worry about. I remember going through the same thing the first time around, and everything turned out fine.

I was actually able to run up until I was six months along in my pregnancy. This time I’m happy just being able to walk.
