Photos: Father’s Day 2014 Filled With Surprises

Father’s Day celebration began a little early this year. The school held a tailgate party for the Dads and their kiddos. The kids were excited that their Dad popped in at school to surprise them.

How We Celebrated Father’s Day

Even though Baby O had no idea what was going on, there’s no denying the joy he felt when Daddy walked through the doors. Spending the day with their Dad is was extra special. Plus, we were able to kill to birds with one stone on Saturday. Princess was invited to a birthday party at the amusement park, and we also able to celebrate Father’s Day.

We kept things pretty simple on Sunday. It was a pretty rough start, but we managed to squeeze in an early dinner. The kids surprised their Dad with a few cards. Princess enjoyed filling out the card herself and also decided to make her own.

How to Make an Awesome Father’s Day Card

Here’s what you’ll need:

Construction paper

Glitter

Craft sticks

Wallet size photos

Markers or crayons

Craft glue

Directions

Fold the constriction paper in half to make a card.

Create artwork with crayons and/or markers on the inside portion of the card.

Make a design using craft glue.

Pour glitter on top of the glue.

Shake off access glitter. (Make sure you’re working in an area that you don’t mind getting dirty. Glitter tends to get a bit messy)

Glue photos onto card cover.

Glue sticks on either side of the photo.

The secret to making the perfect Father’s Day card is to not worry about making perfect. In fact, the great thing about watching kids do artwork is that they have so much fun doing it. It’s so important to capture these special moments. So whenever your kiddos make their next Father’s Day card, make sure you hit record.

Happy Father’s Day! How did your family celebrate the special day?
