Mix Hair Care: Second Day Wash-N-Go Curls

With temperatures heating up, it’s the perfect weather for sporting a wash-n-go. Princess enjoys letting her curly hair down, but with that comes the challenge of keeping her ringlets freshly defined. Day one is all about shampooing, conditioning and detangling her curls. Here are tips on how to get perfect second day wash-n-go curls.

1. Loosely braid or twist hair the night before to reduce tangles and have your little one sleep on a satin pillowcase/silk pillowcase UK and/or satin cap. Note: I avoid braiding hair tight because I don’t want to disturb the curl pattern.

2. Hair should be tangle-free the following morning. All you need to do is spray hair with water. Tresses should be damp and not super saturated. You should still feel a bit of slip from the conditioner added the previous day.

3. With the heat and humidity building, Princess’s hair tends to frizz. I usually just add drop of curling custard to freshen and redefine her curls. Keep in mind, a little goes a long way. Depending on the type of gel or curling custard used, hair may feel a bit stiff. If that happens, just shake, fluff, and scrunch hair until the gel cast loosens. Hair will revert back to it’s natural soft form. Curls should be dry in no time. Check out the final look.

4. Add a cute accessory and your little girl is good to go.
