Mixed Hair Care: Third Day Wash-N-Go Curls

By day three Princess’s curls are a bit less defined because I’m not able to prep her hair the night before. By the time I get home from work, both kids are fast asleep. Her curls are tucked away underneath a satin cap until the following morning. Needless to say, third day wash-n-go curls involves some manipulation.

1. Once we remove the cap, hair is matted. I start by spraying water throughout to dampen her curls. Hair shouldn’t be extremely saturated.

2. Once curls are damp, I add a dime size about of leave in conditioner and work it throughout the strands. I then separate hair into small sections and finger detangle. If you haven’t tried finger detangling, you should! I find that it’s a great way to isolate and get rid of knots and it’s also fantastic for defining curls. This process literally only takes me five minutes. Yes, I actually timed myself. Keep in mind that thicker hair may take a little longer.

3. I follow up with a drop of curling custard to keep curls looking fresh throughout the day. The combination of heat, humidity, and an active little girl could lead to frizz. Adding the gel, eliminates that worry.

4. Complete the look by adding a cute hair accessory and your little girl is good to go.
