Con-Air: How to Make a the Perfect Bun

I love trying out new styles on Princess. But, every now and then I like to experiment on my own natural curls. I was at the drug store the other day, and stumbled across the Con-Air Bun Maker. I never quite mastered the perfect bun, and I figured this would be the perfect opportunity to give it a whirl. Besides, it only cost me about five bucks. You can’t beat that!

I thought it would be a great style for celebrating our anniversary. My hubby and I had tickets to see Dave Chappelle. I wanted something quick, simple, and elegant. The only thing that worried me was the possibility of this bun maker ripping my hair out. My hair is nothing like the silky-haired woman pictured on the box. I wandered if the material would be the right fit for my tight coils. In addition to my different texture, I worried about my hair being long enough to wrap around this spongy donut looking thing.

It actually turned out to be quite the opposite. My strands didn’t get torn from my scalp, and my hair wrapped around it just fine. I was able to achieve this look in just five minutes. All I did was add some almond oil to seal in the moisture to my damp hair, made a ponytail with the elastic band, and secured with bobbie pins. This flower accessory was the perfect final touch.

I probably could have smoothed the front of my hair a bit more, but I didn’t want to pull my edges t0o tight.  I loved the way it turned out.
