20 Weeks: My baby is nocturnal

I’m 20 weeks along in my pregnancy and it feels like my baby is nocturnal.

20 weeks pregnant

We’re half way there! My baby is about the size of a banana (maybe a little longer). I’ve gained just under 10 pounds, but I feel a lot heavier. Similar to my first pregnancy, this baby is nocturnal and loves to move around at bedtime. I wish I could say I’ve been just as active. I can count on one hand the amount of times I’ve been to the gym in the past five months. That’s sad!

I plan on spending more time at the gym. Spring is next week, so I’m looking forward to enjoying some nice outdoor weather.

According to the peeps at BabyCenter, I should make sure to take in enough iron. I am a carrier of hemoglobin C, so I’ve got to stay on top of it. It doesn’t mean I have the condition. But as I mentioned in a previous post, I do suffer from some effects. I’m not big on eating meat, so I’ll have to find other substitutes.

How I’m feeling: Happy, excited, exhausted. Surprising, I’m still able to sleep on my stomach. I’m sure that’ll change in a week or so. I’m still feeling a bit tired at times. But, that’s to be expected-I guess. I can’t lie, I do have mood swings. My appetite continues to increase, and it’s getting harder to make healthy choices. But, I can’t beat myself up for having a treat once in a while.

Imagine my surprise while I’m watching “The Following” on Fox…and I see you on the show!!! I was so excited. My husband started laughing at me and said, “You’re acting like you actually know her!” I don’t, but hey I read your blog! Anyway, I just wanted to say, “Congratulations. You were great!”
