I wouldn’t consider myself a crafter. In fact, I’d say that I’m craft challenged. But, when I heard that you can actually make your own (DIY) non-toxic paint, I jumped at the opportunity. I found a few recipes online. But as with many cooking recipes, I had to put my own little spin on it..
When it comes to making anything, simple always works best for me, and most importantly, Princess. I’ve never been the type to throw together too many ingredients because it gets way too complicated. With two small children, I don’t have a lot of time to work with.
Princess has been asking me to make paint for a while now. So, this past weekend we fulfilled her request. After putting Baby O down for his afternoon nap, we hopped to it.

Who says you have to run out to buy paint for your kids’ arts and crafts project? Making your own non-toxic kids paint is easy! All you need are 4 ingredients:
1 Cup cornstarch or flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup of water (for thicker paint use 1/2 cup water)
a few drops of food coloring (darker shades add more color)
