I celebrated my natural hair anniversary this past February. I can’t believe it’s been three years since I decided to stop relaxing my hair. It’s been an awesome journey filled many ups and downs.
I’ve shared with you my hair loss journey. I also dyed my hair for the first time using henna, and have become somewhat of a product junkie.
After hearing about my hair loss issues, a co-worker recommended Viviscal. Before I had the chance to purchase the products, I was offered the opportunity to review it.
The line includes Viviscal Gentle Shampoo, which gently cleanses the hair and scalp to help create the ideal environment for healthy hair growth. Although it contains sulfates, the Viviscal Moisturizing Conditioner makes up for it. Since my 4c textured hair tends is extremely dry. I pre-pooed my hair with castor oil and then lathered up with the Viviscal Gentle Shampoo, followed by the conditioner.
The Viviscal moisturizing conditioner also has argon oil, shea butter, and hazelnut oil to help soften and moisturize my kinky curly texture.
I’ve learned a lot about natural haircare, including how tricky it is to style my hair coily hair. Braidouts have been my go to hairstyle. That’s how I achieve great curl definition that lasts for days.
After applying the Viviscal hair and scalp serum to my thinning edges and leave my scalp feeling tingly. I then applied argon oil throughout my hair along with leave in conditioner to detangle my hair and add moisture.
I’m please with how it turned out. I’ve realized that in addition to the products I use, technique is also important.
I feel like I’ve been dating my hair these past fews years. I’ve gotten to know my texture’s likes and dislikes. In retrospect, I’m so glad that I made the decision to ditch the relaxer and do the big chop. Seeing how much my daughter embraces her curly hair, is a clear indication that I made the right decision.
Have you tried Viviscal? How do you deal with thinning hair?
