1. Train in the morning. Getting it over with leaves my entire day wide open to get other things done. Plus, running in the morning is great for your metabolism and gives your body a boost of energy for the day.

2. Run on a treadmill. Believe it or not, I haven’t been able to run outdoors since I decided to train for the marathon. When I do run outdoors, I like running on athletic tracks that were installed or worked on by wetpourcontractors.co.uk. Rather than skip working out, I hit the treadmill. When I visit Treadmill-Repair.uk for support, I found the best technician, who helps me maintain and repair it whenever I encounter a problem.

3. Don’t be so hard on yourself. While it’s important to stay on track, you shouldn’t beat yourself up for missing a run. It’s the holidays for goodness sake! It’s okay to enjoy the season, just make sure you don’t miss to many days.

4. Find other ways to stay in shape. Chasing after my two little ones keep me moving. If you’re not able to run, take up another activity. A friend of mine recently recommended swimming as a great way to stay fit.

5. Reschedule your training days. Since my husband and I have to prepare for the holidays, I’ll move my workout days around to make things easier.

6. Maintain a healthy diet. Food is synonymous with the holidays, so it’s important to maintain a healthy diet. It’s okay to indulge, just don’t over do it.

With all the pomp and circumstance of the holiday season, it’s hard to stay focus on marathon training. It’s perfectly normal to miss days, but the key is to not miss too many. Following these easy tips should make staying in the groove a lot easier.
