Potty Princess

It seems like it was just yesterday when my hubby and I welcomed our new baby girl into the world.  Since then it’s been a whirlwind.  We’ve enjoyed so many different milestones from crawling, walking, to first words, and so much more.  In a matter of weeks we’ll be celebrating a new one.  Potty training!

Princess is already familiar with the potty.  She’s used to hearing me say, “Mommy can’t pick you up right now because mommy has to use the potty honey.”  The more I show her how I use the potty, the more prepared she’ll be when it’s time for her to train.  She also says “potty” a lot!

Grandma even bought Princess her own little throne that dubs as a step stool.  These are some of the ways I choose to slowly introduce her to the potty.  Check out my latest fabulous idea!

Princess also loves showing her ladybug how to go potty

When I saw this cute t-shirt at cafepress.com, I knew she would love it.  More so, I felt that it would bring her into the potty frame of mind.  This site has all kinds of baby t-shirts for different occasions.  You can also take advantage of personalized baby clothes, as well as other election buttons for the presidential season.

The mommy in me feels like if I make potty training fun, then my little one will have a blast learning how to use it.  I don’t plan on forcing the issue.  But, I’ll be slowly teaching Princess all about the potty.  I’ll let you know how it goes!

How did you introduce your little one to the potty?

Way to go, Momma and Princess!!! We busted out the pottie about Princess’s age, but Alina is still not ready. Ugh! Maybe Princess can come over and show Alina how its done? Ha!

Awww. Alina will get there in no time! Princess has a long way to go. I’m sure Alina will surpass her. Actually I’ll be in your area soon! Finally planning our first trip. Alone time!

How adorable! Just catching up on your blog after our move and saw this post. We’ve had Nia on her little potty since she was about 1. We just introduced it more as a chair in the living room for a week or so then moved it to the bathroom and explained it was for “pee pee.” Just this week she’s been asking to go before soiling herself and it makes me so excited especially because we no longer have a w/d and it’s cost-prohibitive at our neighborhood laundromat to use them. It’s amazing what little ones will take to no matter how early they’re introduced!

love that she’s getting used to the potty! every time i go, my little shadow comes with me and takes some toilet paper, wipes herself, then puts it in the potty lol. we’re gonna start the real deal w/ her personal potty this weekend and i really hope it goes well. i’ll nurse her till the cows come home or she’s old enough to legally drink, whichever comes first, but i’m SO done w/ diapers! lol btw, princess is gorgeous! her face is just so unique and striking, i can’t stop looking at pictures of her cute self! love it!

Thanks Jessica! That’s so great that you’re still nursing. Skyler Ann is so beautiful! We’re still working on Princess using the potty. She goes at home, but they don’t introduce the potty at daycare until 2 years. I’m debating on whether or not to have her to move up to the next level a little early. I would like for her to use it throughout the day consistently.
