40 Weeks: Time to Bounce!

40Weeks preggers

The tightening of my uterus crescendos and then decrescendos. My tummy goes from a perfectly round ball to a rolling hill. This kid is all over the place! I think it’s time. But after an hour or so, I feel nothing. In my mind I scream,

“Hey baby! You are fully cooked. Now it’s time to bounce.”

Still I feel nothing. That’s how it’s been for the past few weeks. I keep thinking, “any day now.” But, the day doesn’t arrive.

As I’m writing this post, I’m having those contractions again. For some reason it happens the exact same time every single night. According to my OB, there’s no rhyme or reason for what I refer to as ‘teases.’ This baby just does what it does. But enough is enough!

I’m finally ready to meet my little pumpkin. I technically have until 42 weeks, but I can’t see that happening. It’s not because I refuse wait. I think this baby wants out, but is just having a hard time following the light. There’s nothing stopping me from going into labor. My cervix has thinned out and I’m about two centimeters dilated. It’s only a matter of time.

I have an appointment in the morning to see whether or not things have progressed. One things for sure, this baby is coming out one way or another. In the meantime, I plan to continue working until D-day. I look forward to the disbelief on my co-workers faces.

“You’re still here?” They’d ask.

Yep! Still here, I’d reply.

Let’s hope I’m not for the next 12 weeks.

Have you tried raspberry tea leaf tea from the organic store? I took it and was in actual labor within 24-hrs. Hang in there!

I never made it to any of my due dates. But it sounds like your little one is quite cozy staying inside the womb for a while longer. I know you guys are anxious and excited to meet the new addition to the family any day now!
