Last week’s curly hairstyle, we tackled the braided bun updo. It’s great for any occasion. But if you’ve been following this series, you know I absolutely adore Disney inspired hairstyles. Belle, Elsa, Aurora, and Nemo are some of the styles we’ve tried. I plan on dedicating a separate mini series featuring only Disney hairstyles. Speak of which, we wanted to give one of the original character’s hairdo a whirl. So for our Curly Hairstyle of the Week, we did Minnie Mouse inspired Buns. Plus, with Easter around the corner it can also serve as bunny ears.
Achieving this style is pretty easy, especially on naturally curly hair, and it only takes about 10 minutes. The great thing is that you don’t have to worry about detangling the hair too much. It actually works best on hair that hasn’t been combed through too much. We achieved this look in three easy steps.
1. Separate hair into two even parts and make a ponytail on each side above the ears. However, don’t pull hair all the way through to create a Minnie bun.
2. Tuck the left over ends of the hair inside the minnie bun.
3. Shape the Minnie Mouse bun the way you want and secure with bobby pins.
As much as we’ve tried this styles, we realized that no two buns are never exactly alike. To hide the imperfection and add style, we added a bow to the least favorite Minnie Mouse bun and voila!
