You may remember our some of our Disney inspired hairstyles last summer. Princess and I love experimenting with different looks – from dutch braids, to french braids and buns, we’ve tried them all. But with the cold season upon us, I find that we’ve been keeping her hairstyles really simple.
So when my little fashionista told me she wanted to switch up her curls every day, I was down. I didn’t anticipate how detailed she’d be in how she wanted her hair styled though. She has come up with some pretty creative styles. I’m not sure I can keep up with her, but I’m sure gonna try.
Each week we’ll bring you a different curly hairstyle. So without further adieu, check out her first idea – dutch braids with a little twist.
Rather than leave her dutch braids hanging, she asked me to cross them and secure with bobby pins. This is a great style for any occasion and any time for the year. With the weather being so cold and the air so dry, this is a great protective style to retain moisture. Plus, it’s a great way to keep the hair out of her face and it’s less trouble to detangle the following day.
I used a spray bottle with water to damp the hair, gently combed through her tresses. Then I added some leave in conditioner, and sealed in the moisture with just a tiny drop of coconut oil.
