Call Me a Hot Mess Mama

I thought the older a child gets, the easier it would be.  Since moving up to oranges this week, it’s quite the opposite.  It seems like the older my baby girl gets, the more crap we have to lug to daycare.  I stayed up mad late Sunday night getting all her things ready for her classroom switch.  I made a list to help me stay on track.
üThree change of outfits
ü4 regular cups (no more sippee cups)
üSwimsuit
üWater shoes (which her daddy had to run out and get at the last minute)
üBeach towel
üPortable crib sheet and blanket
üPull-ups (they assist with potty training whoo-hoo!)
üWipes

When we woke up the next morning, it started raining so hard you’d think the world was ending.  Lightning littered the skies and the sound of thunder made me want to crawl under the bed.  Hey, just because I cover the weather doesn’t mean I’m one of those weather junkies that would get in a car and chase tornadoes.  I’d rather be the one out in the heat.  I love the hot weather!  Anyway, Princess was terrified and kept asking, “What happened?”  I gave her a quick lesson about thunder and lightning as I brushed her teeth.

When it came to getting dressed, it took her forever.  Thank goodness I got her bag ready the night before.  All I had left to prepare was her lunch.  We were running so far behind.  After breakfast, I literally grabbed everything (including Princess) and jetted out the door.

Her teachers probably thought I was a crazy lunatic when we arrived.  One was straight clocking me!  I caught another one scoping me up and down!

When I got home and took one look in the mirror, I was like oh snap!  Guess what I saw?  My reflection staring back at me.  Yikes!

No wonder these teachers were looking at me all crazy!  I looked like a hot mess!

Let’s be real.  Who has time to get all dolled up just to take their kid to school?  Clearly I don’t.  Can you tell I was wearing my husband’s underwear?

LOL! Don’t worry about it, I’m sure the schools see much worse. Since I work thirds, I regularly get pulled out of bed to get Eve from school if she’s sick or if there is a problem. It’s right down the street, and I walk to get her in PJ’s and bad hair. I don’t think they’ve ever seen me dressed and fully awake.

Did you end up getting a different daycare or is this still the same one that left her wet all day?

Really?lol That’s hilarious! They seem shocked when I am dressed for work. Some think I’m a different person in my hair and makeup. It’s the same one. Since she’s move up to oranges, her new teachers are very attentive. They took the issue I had very seriously, and I see lots of improvements.

Well all I can say is thank the Lord for self tanner and lip gloss. My makeup rarely makes it on my face before I pull into the parking lot at work. I wish I were one of those people who woke up 2 hours early to get ready for the day but I’m TIRED! So totally feeling this post. My saving grace is that I’m actually dressed for work so I feel like maybe they won’t notice my makeup-less face 🙂

Ha ha! So funny to see that pic at the end of the post. You’re braver than I am for sure! At least you got her there on time with all her stuff on time. That’s all that matters, right?

Good job Mama for tackling that todo list!! No worries on making appearances haha! If j have to take my hubby into work I always drive him in flip flops and pjs! I don’t care because he leaves the house at 4:30 am at times! Who wants to get dolled up for that?!?!

    Your husband’s underwear. lol LOL

We all have those moments. I’m rarely “put together” and rarely wear make up. I figure they are used to me in no makeup, so it’s fine and if I put it on I’m dressing up.

My kids will start a new daycare in August that provides food! I really hope it works out because that will save me a lot of time in the morning. 🙂

A FB friend posted she took her kid to school in her PJs and realized when she got there they didn’t have a drop off line that day. LOL She was a little embarrassed.

Lol! You gotta laugh. As moms, we are always strapped for time. Sometimes it’s easier to grab whatever and throw it on. My hubby’s underwear is so easy to put on and it feels super comfy.

You should see the way I look when I take the kids to school. My main priority is to make sure the kids look good. Forget about me. It would take forever if I got ready too.
