Picture Day!

I’ve tried searching for professional photographers to take pics of my baby girl.  But I always end up bowing out, once I see the prices.  The cheapo that I am would much rather take snapshots of Princess with my regular ‘ol digital camera or iPhone.  It’s far from what the experts use, but it works just fine.  Plus, I don’t have to worry about spending an arm and a leg.  No disrespect to those of you who take your kiddos to places like Sears and Babies R Us.  Those pictures are are fab!  But I just don’t have the time or money to spend.  Besides, Princess has her bad days.  I would hate to get her all dolled up and bring her to a studio, only to have her lose it.

But despite my opinions, I’ve decided to have her take school pics.  Her daycare arranges it about twice a year.  The great thing about it is that I can have her pics taken and if I don’t want to buy them, I don’t have to.  So, I might as well right?  This is actually the only time I’ve ever bought pro pics of her.  She took some Spring photos earlier this year and I couldn’t resist getting them, once I saw how adorable she was.  They also took a class picture.  It was too cute!  The best part is that her teachers graciously allowed parents to stay and help out.  I enjoyed spending that time with her.  I also played assistant by holding onto the basket she sat in to prevent her from tipping over.
Watching her in front of the camera brought me back to my childhood.  I remember taking class photos.  My mom couldn’t afford to pay for them every year, so she did the best she could.  You can find a couple of these embarrassing elementary school pics on my website, www.stacyanngooden.com.  Click the gallery section, and select the label marked childhood.

I may find them embarrassing to look at now, but I do appreciate having them.  I’m a very sentimental person, and photos like these are priceless.  It’s great to look back and reminisce.  At some point, I plan on doing a mommy and me professional photo shoot.  It’ll be a moment that Princess will cherish one day.  I’ll also coerce her daddy into taking a few with us too.    In the meantime, I’ll keeping snapping away at my baby girl every chance I get.  I hope you don’t get board seeing her pics.  Please share yours as well!  I’d love to see them.  Feel free to upload them on my Weather Anchor Mama facebook page.  Please don’t forget to like my page, if you haven’t done so already.  If you don’t have a facebook page, you can email them directly to me at stacyann@stacyanngooden.com
For now, enjoys these cute snapshots I took of Princess before her daycare photo session.  The day started out great as you can see.  However, it wasn’t as easy, breezy as her Spring picture day.  With two new teeth coming in, she’s been a bit cranky and sleep deprived.
