What Inspired Me to Start Blogging

I started this blog as a way of documenting my journey of balancing career and motherhood two years ago. I really didn’t know what to expect. Would people read it? Would I get lazy and give up? As it turns out, it’s probably one of the best things I’ve ever done. It offers priceless memories for my family and me. Now Weather Anchor Mama is turning 2-years-old, and I look forward to growing.

I remember celebrating my one year blogversary last year. I listed five goals to achieve, and I’m happy to say that I accomplished all, but one of them. The only thing that I couldn’t check off my list was taking a photography class. However, I  my pictures continue to get better with practice. I’m not terrible for an amateur.

As far as gaining followers, I try not to focus on that too much. Don’t get me wrong; I love and appreciate all of my readers. What makes me happy is when I get an email from someone telling me how much I’ve inspired them.

Hosting more giveaways and guest blogging were also on the list. In fact, I’m hosting a giveaway now on BabyCenter. If you haven’t checked out any of my posts, please do. I enjoy sharing my mommy triumphs and conundrums.

Lastly, I was happy to have attended my first conference ever! Blogher 2012 was a hit, and I hope to attend more conferences in the future.

What I Hope to Achieve This Year

This year I want to continue growing my blog. It’s taken on a life of it’s own, and I’m excited. I’m not sure if you’ve notice, but I revamped my site a bit. I didn’t want to change the layout too much. However, I wanted to change hosts. The best advice I’ve ever gotten from “The Sits Girls” is to own your own ‘sh**!’ I’ve taken their advice and have never looked back. They were so gracious to feature me on their blog as well.

In the meantime, I’ll continue working on my pregnancy diaries, as I wait to welcome baby number two. I’m hoping to turn this diary into a book. I’m all about making lasting memories for my kids.

There’s also another project that I plan on tackling. It’s a pretty big undertaking. But, I’m gonna try and do the best I can. I’ll be sure to fill you in on all the details later.

Thanks so much for all your continued support.
